The head of the Milton Educators Association confirmed Nov. 25 that the MEA and the district have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.
“We did reach a tentative agreement last night (Monday),” said Margaret Gibbons, president of the MEA. She declined to give further details on the proposed pact.
Teachers had reportedly scheduled a protest march at each of the schools for Tuesday morning if a deal had not been reached by that time. The protest was not planned to interfere with the regular school day.
Negotiations with the MEA and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees had been ongoing since the previous contract expired on Aug. 31. For more subscribe to our e-edition.
