State Rep. Dan Cullinane announced a series of weekly “Dan in the District” community office hours at five convenient locations throughout the 12th Suffolk District including The Plate at 27 Central Ave., every Friday, beginning March 7.
Cullinane has also scheduled a weekly meeting at Flatblack Coffee, 1170 Washington St. in Dorchester, from 9-11 a.m.
Cullinane, whose district includes Precincts 1 and 2 in Milton, said the initiative is part of his on-going commitment to enable residents of the district to have consistent and direct access to meet with him personally without having to commute into the State House.
“Many people who care very deeply about our communities, who have great ideas and observations, do not have the time or flexibility to visit the State House, to make a phone call during the work day, or to attend a monthly community meeting.” Cullinane said. “During the campaign, I made a promise to the people of Dorchester, Mattapan, Hyde Park, and Milton to make accessibility for all one of my top priorities. I believe this aggressive weekly schedule blocking 12 hours to meet with residents at five different locations throughout the district every Friday shows that commitment.
“This is just one additional way I hope to engage and empower residents to take an active role in improving the district. I look forward to having conversations with folks as they grab their morning coffee, stop for lunch, or pick up their dinner.”
No advance notice is needed and Cullinane said he will meet with constituents on a first come, first serve basis at each location. Any changes to the schedule will be posted on the Representative’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CullinaneForRep or Twitter handle @dannycullinane which can be accessed at www.twitter.com/DannyCullinane.
