Milton Public Schools will have an early release day on Wednesday, March 12, Superintendent Mary Gormley announced on her blog.
On that day, students at Cunningham and Collicot will be released at noon, students at Tucker and Glover will be released at 12:30 p.m., students at Pierce Middle School will be released at 11:25 a.m. and students at Milton High School will be released at 11:16 a.m.
Bus service will follow dismissal as usual.
Gormley said that for parents and guardians who would like to enroll their children in optional programming, Milton Community Schools will be running early release day programs in all four elementary schools on the following schedule:
• Collicot/Cunningham: noon to 2:47 p.m.
• Glover/Tucker 12:30 to 3:14 p.m.

This early release day was part of the recently-negotiated teacher contract which will allow staff to participate in professional development and collaborative planning time.
The next early release day is scheduled for Thursday, April 3 for grades K-12.
