MILTON, Ma. – The Milton Wildcats football team travelled to Bishop Feehan Aug. 30 for their final scrimmage, leading up to their first regular season game at Stoughton on Friday, Sept. 9.
Since Aug. 18, coach Jim Bowes and his staff have been molding both the offense and defense in preparation of the 2014 season. The scrimmage against Bishop Feehan would be the team’s first real test, playing four quarters against a tough opponent. It was also an opportunity for Bowes, in his sixth year as head coach, to evaluate his new junior quarterback, Mike Fallon.
Fallon, who has been playing football for half his young life, did not disappoint as he threw three touchdown passes, leading Milton to a 26-6 win over the Shamrocks.
The team would head back to Milton with only a few minor injuries and a lot of smiles and another hard week of practice before the season opener at Stoughton High School, 7 p.m. in a non-league contest.
