Arthur V. Cote, 79, of Chatham, formerly of Harwichport and Milton, died at home Feb. 19.
He and his wife, Jane B. Cote, raised their family in Milton and Harwichport.
A New England Ford dealer, Mr. Cote was owner of Cote Motor Co. and Ford Power Products of Boston until 1976. He was owner of Harwichport Boat Works and Cote Yacht Sales of Harwichport until 2004.
Mr. Cote had passionate interests in cars, boats, fishing and his many friends.
He is survived by his children, Susan C. Cote and her husband, Richard Romanski, of North Salem, N.Y., Arthur Cote Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Marshfield, Geoffrey B. Cote, of Westwood, and Thomas P. Cote and his wife, Fotene, of Boston; his sister, Michelle Cote, of Key West, Fla.; his niece, Amy Cote, of High Falls, N.Y; 12 grandchildren; a family friend, Constance Ellis, of Harwichport; and his poodle, Pepe.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jane B. Cote; his son, Henry R. Cote; his daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Cote; and his brothers, Ralph Cote and Stephen Cote.
A memorial service was held in St. Michael’s Episcopal Church on March 2.
