Bernardine McInnis

Bernardine “Bernie” (Kennedy) McInnis, of Milton, formerly of Boston and Melrose, died at home March 15.

Born in Boston, she graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Boston. She was the daughter of the late Michael L. Kennedy and Margaret M. (Lonas) Kennedy.

Mrs. McInnnis worked for more 35 years as a varitypist for Stone & Webster Engineering and later for Fay, Spofford & Thorndike Engineering.

She resided in Melrose for 15 years and was a former member of the YWCA in Melrose. She moved to Milton in 2005.

Wife of the late Vincent J. McInnis, she is survived by her stepdaughter, Cheryl Douglas, of Wakefield; her sister, Catherine Smith, of Roslindale; several nieces and nephews; and her friends, Mary Dandrow and Dr. Robert Dandrow, of Milton, and Mary Cleary and John Cleary, of Quincy.

She was the sister of the late Mary Muthersbaugh and Margaret Moro.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on March 19. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
