Beulah Viola Wood, of Milton, died Oct. 1.
She was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School and Suffolk University.
A social worker for the Welfare Department of the city of Boston for 40 years, she retired as a supervisor.
She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, the Urban League Guild, the Goldenares of Freedom House, the Milton Seniors, the Council on Aging and the AARP.
She is survived by her siblings, Gladys Wood, of Milton, Norma Wood, of West Roxbury, Hilda Smith, of Jamaica Plain, Mildred Griffin, of Olympia, Wash., and Corinne Lewis, of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Norris Richardson, of Hyde Park; a sister-in-law, Theresa Wood, of South Dennis; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was the sister of the late Doris Wood, Samuel Wood, Norman Wood, Elaine Wood, Evelyn Richardson, Nahola Babo and Hilma Wood.
Burial was private. |
