Born and raised in Milton, Brian was a 1976 graduate of Milton High School, where he excelled in football, hockey and baseball.

Mr. Macdonald was a longtime Realtor on the South Shore.

An avid Boston sports fan, he completed two Boston Marathons and one New York City Marathon.

Son of the late Paul L. Macdonald and Claire (Ristuccia) Macdonald, he is survived by his siblings, Paul J. Macdonald, of Somerville, Barry S. Macdonald and his wife, Ann, of Braintree, Cathy Downes and her husband, Michael, of Easton, and Susan Hankard and her husband, Bill, of Milton; and his nieces and nephews, Dana Hankard, Jay Hankard, Jessica Hankard, Will Hankard, Marissa Downes, Lena Downes, Jack Downes, Matthew Macdonald and Harry Macdonald.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Aug. 16. Burial was private.
