Carolyn Howes |
Carolyn (Fownes) Howes, 99, of Milton, died Aug. 21. Mrs. Howes was a 10,000-hour volunteer and past president of the Milton Hospital Auxiliary, two-time past matron of the Guy A. Ham Chapter of Eastern Star, a 50-year member of Parkway United Methodist Church, and a current member of East Congregational Church. Wife of the late Robert W. Howes, she is survived by her children, Robert E. Howes, of East Hartford, Conn., Hazel H. Lathrop, of Pembroke, Barbara M. Varney, of Columbus, Ohio, Chester F. Howes, of Fairborn, Ohio, and Marcia H. Lorentzen, of Weston, Conn.; three grandsons; and two great-grandsons. She was predeceased by her sister and one grandson. A funeral service was held Aug. 25 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
