Charles A. Rota, 84, died Oct. 1 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Milton High School and served in the Navy Pacific Fleet during World War II. After discharge he joined the Carpenters Union, Local 67, retiring after 40 years.
Mr. Rota was a lifelong resident of Milton and a member of the Italian American Club of Mattapan.
Husband of the late Theresa (Purpura) Rota, he is survived by his children, Linda Barron and her husband, John, of Sherborn, Daniel Rota and his wife, Kathleen, of Avon, Thomas Rota and his wife, Robin, of Pembroke, Stephen Rota and his wife, Charisse, of Milton, John Rota and his wife, Deborah,
of Middleborough, and Richard Rota, of Milton;
his sister, Nancy Pena, of Braintree; his brother,
Robert Rota, of Milton; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
He was the brother of the late Alfred Rota.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in
St. Elizabeth Church on Oct. 9. Burial was in
Milton Cemetery.
