Charles W. Swarbrick

Charles W. Swarbrick, 81, of Braintree, died March 2 in South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, after a brief illness.
Born in Providence, R.I., on March 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles W. Swarbrick and Elsie S. (Brown) Swarbrick. A resident of Braintree for the past 20 years, he previously resided in Weymouth and Dorchester.
Mr. Swarbrick was employed as a machinist with Modern Tool & Dye before retiring in 1995.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He enjoyed traveling, and spending time at the senior center at 1000 Southern Artery in Quincy.
Husband of the late Barbara (Howe) Swarbrick, who died in January 1998, he is survived by his daughter, Christine L. Gordon and her husband, William, of Milton; his sister, Luellen Roberts, of Lunenburg; and his nieces and nephew, Patty Diskes, Gordon Roberts, Peggy Pearlstein and Joanne Cantone.
Mr. Swarbrick was the uncle of the late Chester Roberts.
Burial is private.
