Claire M. (Darwak) Coughlin, 96, of Milton, died Feb. 10 in Queen Anne Nursing Home, Hingham.
Born and raised in Kingston, N.Y., she worked for General Foods as a demonstrator. She met her husband at the Uphams Corner Market, Dorchester, and they married and moved to Milton in 1939.
Wife of 70 years of the late John F. “Ted” Coughlin, who died Dec. 21, she is survived by her children, Patricia Celona and her husband, Joseph, of Whitman, Dr. John F. Coughlin and his wife, Meg, of Falmouth, Maine, Elaine Schaeffer and her husband, Bob, of Sanibel Island, Fla., Kathleen McCown and her husband, John II, and Debra Coughlin, all of Pound Ridge, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Kristine Celona Mucci and her husband, Rick, Michael Celona and his wife, Mindy, Dario Schaeffer, John Daly McCown III, Caroline Hart McCown, Christopher Coughlin and Elizabeth Coughlin; and her great-grandchildren, Isabella Celona, Justin Mucci and Lucia Celona.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in
St. Agatha Church on Feb. 27. Burial was in
Milton Cemetery.
