Daniel J. Madden, 80, of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died Feb. 11.
Born and raised in South Boston, he was a 1946 graduate of South Boston High School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Mr. Madden was a plumber before his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Local 12 for 60 years.
He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Presidents Golf Club. In his earlier years, he played the guitar and sang for family on special occasions.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years of Theresa C. (Walsh) Madden; his children, Dr. Daniel J. Madden Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth Madden, of Milton, and Christine Sullivan and her husband, Dr. William Sullivan, also of Milton; and his grandchildren, Kevin Madden, Colleen Madden, Daniel Madden, William Sullivan and Laura Sullivan, all of Milton.
Mr. Madden was the brother of the late Frank Madden and Gertrude Madden.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy, on Feb. 17. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
