David J. McKeen |
David J. McKeen, 73, retired owner of D.J. McKeen & Sons Fuel Oil Inc., died Aug. 29 in Naples, Fla. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. He served in Germany for the U.S. Army, and lived in Dorchester before moving to Milton in 1967. Mr. McKeen established D.J. McKeen & Sons Fuel Oil Inc. in 1978, retiring in 1998. He and his wife of 50 years traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in their motor home. He particularly loved Alaska and traveled extensively throughout the state in 1976, 1995 and 2005. He is survived by his wife, Gladys M. (Murphy) McKeen; his children, Patrick J. McKeen and his wife, Michelle, Joseph D. McKeen and his wife, Lisa, Michael F. McKeen and his wife, Tracey, David W. McKeen and Matthew F. McKeen; his brothers, Joseph L. McKeen, Francis S. McKeen and Paul McKeen; his sister, Mary Kelly; and six grandchildren, Connor, Madison, Justin, Molly, Luke and Delaney. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. Arrangements were by the Dolan Funeral Home.
