Denise Therese (O’Leary) Stanton, 80, of Milton and Marshfield, formerly of Mattapan and Dorchester, died at home Nov.19.

Mrs. Stanton is remembered as a graceful, elegant and compassionate woman of tremendous faith.

She was a lifelong educator who instilled the values of family, friendship and integrity.

A retired teacher at Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Milton High School, she was a graduate of Jeanne D’Arc Academy, Emmanuel College and Boston University.

Wife of the late Paul S. Stanton, she is survived by her children, Andrea Stanton, Michele Stanton and Matthew Stanton, all of Milton, Paul Keith Stanton, of Charlestown, Roger Stanton, of South Carolina, Anthony Stanton, of Westwood; and eight grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late Mark Stanton, sister of the late Carole Kenneally, Donald O’Leary and Kevin O’Leary, and sister-in-law of the late George Kenneally.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Nov. 22. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
