Domenico V. Giuliano, 98, of West Chester, Pa., formerly of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, died Oct. 21 in West Chester.

Born in Quincy in 1913, he was the son of Lucia (Prebianca) Giuliano and Peter S. Giuliano.

A graduate of Milton High School, he was a member of the Milton Police Department for more than 38 years, rising to the rank of chief of detectives. He was especially proud to have been a Quincy court prosecutor, an honorary member of the Norfolk County Bar Association and president of the Norfolk County Bar Association Prosecutors.

Mr. Giuliano was a member of St. Agatha Church, president of the St. Joan of Arc Pastoral Committee in New Hampshire, and a lector and Eucharistic minister in Alton, N.H.

A life member of the Knights of Columbus, he belonged to the Milton Knights of Columbus 2749, St. Joan of Arc Knights of Columbus 7533, where he was a First Grand Knight, and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Father MacDonald Council in Rochester, N.H.

Upon retiring in 1976, his community activities in New Hampshire included service as president of Community Action, president of the Alton Seniors, president of the Barnstead Senior Nighthawks, a member of the Wolfeboro Seniors, and a member of Council 7533 as chairman of the Sunshine Committee.

Husband of the late Helen F. (Crowder) Giuliano for 54 years, he is survived by his children, Geraldine Erwin, Peter W. Giuliano, Elaine F. Scovill, Ethel M. Desmarais and Frank D. Giuliano; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in SS. Simon and Jude Church, West Chester, on Oct. 26.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. at C.E. Peaslee & Son Funeral Home, 12 School St., Alton, followed by a burial at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or hospice.
