Dominic M. Veneto, of Quincy, formerly of Milton, died at Carney Hospital, Dorchester, on Feb. 2.
Born in Roxbury, he lived for many years in Milton before moving to Quincy.
Mr. Veneto was a craftsman. As a brick mason, he worked beside his brothers in the family business, Peter Veneto & Sons. He later worked as a building inspector for the commonwealth of Massachusetts.
He enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing cards with his friends at the Elks Club in Quincy and, most of all, the laughter and warm spirit of his many friends and family.
A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he served on Parris Island, S.C., and later was stationed in Hawaii.
He is survived by his children, Peter J. Veneto and his wife, Helen, of South Carolina, Beth Veneto Martin, of Georgia, Dominic M. Veneto Jr., of Norwell, and Christina Veneto, of Weymouth; two sisters, Anna Zelvis, of Dorchester, and Mary Cornaro, of Easton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his wife, Carolyn (Mallard) Veneto, of South Carolina. He was also the brother of the late Paul Veneto, Michael Veneto, Joseph Veneto, Angelo Veneto, John Veneto, Peter Veneto and Lena Cox.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Feb. 6. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
