Dorothy (Bennett) Mulvey, 91, died Dec. 3.

Mrs. Mulvey was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y.

While working for the Schrader Valve Co. in New York City, she was introduced to her husband, the late James A. Mulvey, by her coworkers, Theresa Mulvey Riordan and her father Francis Mulvey. It was the start of a marriage that remained strong for 56 years.

Happiest as a homemaker, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. Her hobbies included gardening and nature studies.

She is survived by her children, Michael Mulvey, of Milton, and Ellen Mulvey and Jane Quiles, both of New Jersey; her stepdaughter’s husband, Dr. Robert Mittendorf, formerly of Milton; her grandchildren, Will Mittendorf, Inga Mittendorf, Alexander Quiles, Ariane Cresap, Elizabeth Quiles, Anna Mulvey and Katherine Mulvey; and her aide, Mzia Shanava, who cared for her until her passing.

She was the stepmother of the late Dr. Margaret Herschel Mittendorf.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on Dec. 9. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
