Dr. Rev. Leicester Potter

Dr. Rev. Leicester R. Potter Jr. died at Marian Manor Nursing Home, South Boston, on July 6.
Born in Boston, he was raised in Brookline and Hingham. He was a graduate of Tufts University, Boston University and Andover Newton Theological School.
Dr. Rev. Potter was the chaplain at Boston Medical Center for 39 years, and director of pastoral care and education at Boston University.
He was a member of Quincy Community United Methodist Church and of Masons-Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, Rural Lodge, Quincy.
He is survived by his wife,
Verna P. (Ellison) Potter; his children, Robert E. Potter and his
wife, Paulette, Richard F. Potter and his wife, Kathleen, and David L. Potter and his wife, Meg, all of Quincy, and John S. Potter and his wife, Carol, of Milton; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was the brother of the late Robert Potter.
A funeral service was held in the chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester, on July 10.
