E. Louise Jacobson

E. Louise “Lou” (Flaherty) Jacobson died at Weymouth Healthcare Center on June 30.
Born in Boston, she lived in Dorchester prior to her move to Wollaston 24 years ago.
A retired employee of the U.S. Post Office at South Postal Annex, Boston, Mrs. Jacobson was a longtime parishioner and lifelong supporter of St. Peter’s Church, Dorchester, as well as a longtime parishioner of St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston.
She was a volunteer for the Jerry Lewis annual MDA Telethon and the Channel 2 PBS annual fund-raising auction.
Wife of the late Charles J. Jacobson, she is survived by her children, Eileen M. Furber, of Dorchester, Ann L. Sweeney, of Milton, Carol Griffin, of Dorchester, Charles J. Jacobson, of North Reading, Peter F. Jacobson, of Quincy, and Ruthie Jacobson, of Hull; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Katherine Renehan, Eileen Geary, Thomas Flaherty, Donald Flaherty and Francis Flaherty.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston, on July 3. Private burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
