Eileen M. Burke |
Eileen M. Burke, 67, died Aug. 22 at Marina Bay Nursing Home. Born in Boston, she was raised in Jamaica Plain and had resided in Milton since the late 1970s. She was a 1961 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She was a Sister of St. Joseph for 28 years, leaving the convent to care for her ailing parents. She was an associate of the Sisters of St. Joseph for the last four years. Daughter of the late Joseph B. Burke and Eleanor V. (McKenna) Burke, she is survived by her cousins, James MacDonald, Anne (Burke) Davis, Natalie Burke-Conty and Margaret (Burke) Conroy; her sisters-in-law, Sally (Grennon) Burke and Elaine (McDonald) Burke; nine nieces and nephews; and nine grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Edward J. Burke, Joseph B. Burke Jr. and Mary Eleanor Burke. A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Aug. 27. Burial was in Old Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale. Donations may be made to the Bethany Healthcare Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham, MA 01702. Arrangements were by the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home. |
