Ellen M (Ahern) Lynch passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

Born in Boston, she had been a Quincy resident for the past 50 years. A graduate of Boston Teachers College, Class of ’52, Mrs. Lynch was a retired 40 year Boston School Teacher of the Mather School, Dorchester, a former member of the Proparvulis Club, the Red Hat Society, and a former Aramethian.

The beloved wife of the late John F. Lynch, she is survived by her devoted sons; John F. Lynch Jr. & his wife Ann of Norwell, Jeremiah A. Lynch of Quincy and her loving grandchildren, Ian & Meaghan Lynch, both of Norwell. She was the sister of the late Shelia Hankey and Katherine Coughlin.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Thursday, January 5, at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday, January 4, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visit www.alfreddthomas.com.
