Elsa Marie (Rost) Chambers, 92, of Quincy, died Aug. 27 in Berlin, N.H.

Born Feb. 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Maximilian R. Rost and Freida P. (Haeffner) Rost.

Mrs. Chambers graduated from Milton public schools and was employed at the Mattapan Cooperative Bank for 23 years. She was involved in Parkway United Methodist Church.

An animal lover, she was especially fond of her dogs Molly and Jenny. She enjoyed arranging flowers, eating ice cream, traveling, and spending time with her family in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.

Wife of the late James Alexander Chambers Jr., she is survived by her daughter, Jean Chambers and her companion, Stephen Harris, of Quincy; her brother-in-law, Arthur Mix, of Wayland; and nieces, nephews and friends.

She was the sister of the late Irene Mix, Clara Rost and George Rost.

A memorial service was held in Parkway United Methodist Church on Sept. 24.
