Ernesto V. Luy died at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, on Oct. 25.
Born, raised and educated in the Philippines, he had resided in Quincy for over 20 years.
Mr. Luy was employed in the
dining services at John Hancock Financial Services prior to his 20-year
employment as an HVAC mechanic at the same company.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Union, Local 877.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia L. (Loanzon) Luy; his children, Louwel Luy, Aeron Luy and Angelica Luy, all of Quincy; his sisters, Cresencia Garcia, of Las Vegas, Carmelita Kwong, of Braintree, Cecilia Samson, of Quincy, and Benidicta Cabrera, of California; and his brothers, Carlos Luy, of Arizona, Ricardo Luy, of Quincy, and Feliciano Luy, of the Philippines.
He was the brother of the late Corazon Aquino.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy, on Oct. 31. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
