Evelyn M. Williams died March 23 at Marina Bay Skilled Nursing in Quincy.

Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in the Boston schools and a graduate of Bryant and Stratton Business School. She was a resident of Milton for 30 years before moving to Randolph 20 years ago.

Miss Williams was a legal secretary at the Sherburne Powers & Needham law firm for 36 years, retiring in 1983.

An avid reader, she loved to do crossword puzzles.

Daughter of the late John R. Williams and Mary T. (Burke) Williams, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth Williams, of Virginia; and her nephew and nieces, J. Richard Williams, of Florida, Joan Williams Ford, of Virginia, Judith Kearney Ward, of Milton, Marion Kearney Schraub, of New Jersey, and Eileen Kearney Rothfarb, of Connecticut.

She was the sister of the late Joseph R. Williams.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on March 28. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
