Florence Ann Blake

Florence Ann (Higgins) Blake, 94, died Aug. 3 at her home in Milton.
A daughter of the late James Higgins and Mary (Fitzpatrick) Higgins, she was born in Blackstone, the youngest of nine children.
In 1942, she married Raymond M. Blake, a retired Army sergeant major, now deceased, a former director of visitor services at the Museum of Science in Boston.
Mrs. Blake, who was a resident of Milton for the past 52 years, dedicated her life to her family, as a wife, as a mother raising six children, as a grandmother, and as a sister.
She is survived by her children, Eileen F. Blake, of Tenino, Wash., Raymond M. Blake Jr., of Weymouth, John T. Blake, of Milton, William K. Blake and Elizabeth A. Blake, both of Medford, and Roberta L. Blake, of Branford, Conn.; her daughters-in-law; Ann M. Blake, Janice Blake, Maggie Van Rossum and Cydney Slotoroff; her grandchildren, Dr. Cara A. Blake,
Brian T. Blake, Lauren Blake Amezquita, Gillian M. Blake and Lian C. Blake and their spouses, Maureen Smith and Alex Amezquita; her great-granddaughter Evelyn Amezquita; many nieces and nephews; and
her cat, Lucy.
She was the sister of the late Mary Higgins, James Higgins, George Higgins, William Higgins, Edward Higgins, Katherine Higgins, Raymond Higgins and Eugene Higgins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Church on Aug. 7. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
