Francis E. McCarthy died June 9 at the Wingate at Silver Lake, Kingston.
Born in Boston, 80 years ago, he grew up in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School.
He was employed as a claims processor for the Department of Employment and Training, Boston.
Mr. McCarthy was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his sister, Mary C. Gallagher, of Raynham; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late William P. McCarthy and Charlotte (Cassidy) McCarthy, and brother of the late Joseph McCarthy, William McCarthy and John McCarthy.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on June 12. Burial was in Mount Benedict Cemetery, Boston.
