Francis J. “Frank” Coughlin died at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on July 28.
Born in Boston 92 years ago, he was raised in Boston and was a graduate of South Boston High School. He resided in Milton for more than 30 years, moving to Sunrise Assisted Living in Braintree a year ago.
For more than 50 years, he was a welding supervisor for General Dynamics, at the Fore River shipyard, before retiring in 1980.
Mr. Coughlin was a former member of the South Boston Yacht Club, Milton Yacht Club and North Quincy Knights of Columbus.
Husband of the late Isabelle A. (McGrath) Coughlin, he is survived by his children, Ann M. Fay, of Canton, and Francis E. “Eddie” Coughlin, of Quincy; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on July 30. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
