Francis M. Hutchinson

Francis M. “Frank” Hutchinson, 91, of Milton, died July 10.
Born in Boston, he graduated from Cathedral High School, Boston, where he was president of his class and captain of the football team. He served in the Navy as a chief petty officer, fire control officer on the USS Simpson during World War II.
Mr. Hutchinson was a communicant and choir member of St. Gregory Church, Dorchester, and member of the choir at St. Elizabeth Church, Milton.
He was a longtime employee of New England Telephone and Telegraph Co., retiring as managing supervisor in the legal department.
Husband of the late Mary (Kelly) Hutchinson, he is survived by his children, Joseph Hutchinson, of Milton, who was his longtime caregiver, Anne O’Donnell, of Framingham, Judith Hutchinson, of Jamaica Plain, Kathleen Breslin and her husband, John, of Cumberland, R.I., and Thomas Hutchinson, of Quincy; his grandchildren, Tommy, Rachel, Hannah and Emma Hutchinson, Stephen O’Donnell, and Kate, Julie, Susan and Anne Breslin; and three great-grandchildren, Madeline and Emily Hutchinson, and Matthew Furda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson.
Mr. Hutchinson was the last of 10 children of the late Sabina (Gurley) and Thomas Hutchinson, of Ireland and Boston: John Hutchinson, Thomas Hutchinson, Joseph Hutchinson, Paul Hutchinson, Mary Gentile, Katherine Torquato, Margaret Whittemore, Sabina Whittemore and Eleanor Abbasciano.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Gregory Church, Dorchester, on July 15. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
Arrangements were by the Dolan Funeral Home.
