Francis P. Gori, 81, died Nov. 20 following a lengthy battle with lymphoma.

Mr. Gori worked as a portrait photographer for over 20 years at Purdy’s Studio in Boston. Later, he was a car salesman at Plaza Oldsmobile in Braintree.
He became self-employed and retired in 1993, to spend time with his grandchildren and shared a love of model trains with his grandchild, Cesare.
He had many special friends and all who knew him would attest to his sense of humor. He was known as a gentleman.
Husband of 58 years of Shirleyann (Holt) Gori, he is survived by his children, Shirleyann Francesca (Gori) Marcella, of Braintree, and Francis Paul Gori Jr., of Milton; a special son, Antonio Marcella, of Quincy; and his grandchildren, Cesare Marcella and Gabriella Marcella, both of Braintree, and Ayana Raine Gori, of Taunton.
His love of his children was evident to all that knew him. He always said his grandchildren were the stars on the Christmas tree.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 23 in St. Mary of the Hills Church. Burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
Arrangements were by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home.
