George A. Harris, 90, of Milton, died June 30.
Born in Boston, Mr. Harris lived in Mission Hill and was educated in the Boston schools. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He resided in Milton for more than 30 years and summered in Popponesset.
A 30-year civil engineer for the Federal Highway Administration, he retired in 1974.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy L. (Carmody) Harris; his children, Lori A. DeRoo, of Milton, George A. Harris, of Dedham, and Ellen J. Harris, of Lowell; his brother, Harold Harris, of Dedham; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Robert G. Harris and Stephen J. Harris, the brother of the late Edward Harris, John Harris and Priscilla Harris, and the father-in-law of the late Jim DeRoo.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on July 2. Burial was in Bourne National Cemetery.
