George E. Muise, 98, died Aug. 20.

Born in East Boston, and raised and educated in Boston, he had lived in Quincy for more than 40 years.

A retired tool and die maker, Mr. Muise served as a Navy Seabee in the Pacific theater during World War II.

Husband of the late Zoe Mary Healy (Clodi) Muise, he is survived by his children, Beverly Kinsler and her husband, Norbert, Marian Carpenter and Robert Muise, all of California; his stepson, James J. Healy and his wife, Michelle, of Florida and Maine; his granddaughter, Leigh Healy Davis, of New York; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy, on Aug. 30. Burial was in First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine.
