Grace F. Hoyt, 87, died Oct. 30.

A Quincy resident, she lived in Milton for 42 years.

She worked for more than 40 years for the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Quincy. After her retirement she became an active member of the Proparvulis Club, contributing to its many fundraising events.

Miss Hoyt volunteered for many years at St. Mark’s and St. Kevin’s parishes in Dorchester.

An excellent cook, she hosted numerous reunions as matriarch of her extended family.

Her family is grateful for the care she received at the Alliance Healthcare in Braintree.

The eldest daughter of the late Samuel F. Hoyt and Bertha (Ford) Hoyt, she is survived by her siblings, John F. Hoyt and his wife, Anna, Samuel F. Hoyt Jr., Kathleen M. Hoyt, Marie B. Hoyt and Caroline M. Hoyt; and her nieces and nephews, Mary C. Hamilton, Patrick J. Hoyt, John D. Hoyt, Theresa A. Evers, M. Jeanne Sehnert, Samuel F. Hoyt III and George Hoyt.

She was the sister-in-law of the late Martha (Pemberton) Hoyt.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Nov. 2. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
