H. Noel Hebard

H. Noel Hebard, 88, died at his home in Dorchester, on June 5.
Born in Boston, he had lived in Mattapan, Milton and West Yarmouth prior to his move to Dorchester nine years ago.
A graduate of Hyde Park High School, Mr. Hebard was a retired sexton of St. Angela Parish, Mattapan, and the retired proprietor of Duffy Furs, Boston, a family business for which he worked for 30 years. He was also a former employee of Pirates Cove, Yarmouth.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Ticonderoga. He was a past president of St. Angela Holy Name Society, and a member of the Quincy Council 2259, Knights of Columbus, and Massachusetts Citizens for Life. He was a past treasurer of the Boston Fur Club, a past president of the Retired Men’s Club of Cape Cod, a former lector and Eucharistic minister of St. Anthony’s Shrine, Arch Street, Boston, and a lector at St. Brendan Church, St. Angela Church and St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy T. (Foley) Hebard; his children; Christopher G. Hebard and his wife, Barbara, of Melrose, Jerome V. Hebard, of the Boston Police Department, and his wife, Linda, of Bridgewater, William G. Hebard and his wife, Jeanne, of Needham, Herbert John Hebard, Grace M. Barry and her husband, Paul, Edmund D. Hebard and his wife, Mariana, Margaret M. Hamilton and her husband, Edward, of the Boston Police Department all of Dorchester, Mary E. Hebard, of South Boston, Anne M. Duduch and her husband, Christopher, of Marshfield, Theresa M. Lynch and her husband, Paul, of Quincy, and Hugh J. Hebard and his wife, Eileen, of Westwood; his grandchildren, Allyson, Edward, Joseph, Kevin, Ryan, Olivia, David, Stephen, Mary Kate, Timothy, Christopher, Ronan, Lucy, Grace and Mairead; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hebard, of South Yarmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alice Duffy, Grace Brady and Gregory Hebard.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Angela Church, Mattapan, on June 9. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
