Henry J. Curtin died Dec. 31.
Born in Somerville, he was a graduate of South Boston High School. He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II, and graduated from Northeastern University and Suffolk University.
A longtime resident of Readville, he had lived in East Bridgewater for the past 20 years.
Mr. Curtin was a retired Boston police officer of 39 years at Station 11, Dorchester, and also served as the community service officer in Area C.
He was a member of the Retired Boston Police Officers Association, the Readville Council Knights of Columbus, and the Boston Police VFW Post. He was a former member of the Boston Police Band and the Navy Band.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia A. (Crowley) Curtin; his children, Margaret M. “Mimi” Conklin and her husband, Kevin, of East Bridgewater, Virginia “Ginger” Capasso and her husband, Fred, of Reading, Ann Martin and her husband, Dan, of Randolph, and H. James Curtin Jr. and his wife, Mandy, of Westwood; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Thomas Curtin.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Jan. 4. Burial was in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
