Jacobus “John” Pels, 88, died suddenly at Milton Hospital on April 15.
Born in Boston, he was raised in South Boston and resided there until 30 years ago when he moved to Milton.
Mr. Pels was an employee of the Boston University maintenance department for 12 years. He retired in 1988.
Husband of the late Mary (Keane) Pels, he is survived by his children, John T. Pels, a retired Boston police officer, of Norwood, Mary E. Vaughan, of Milton, Carol A. Marcinkus, of Elsworth, Maine; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Joseph A. Pels and brother of the late Cornelia Haynes.
A funeral service was held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on April 18. Burial was in Milton Cemetery. |
