James F. Keane Sr., a retired assistant vice president at Bank of Boston, died May 27 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a 1956 graduate of Boston English High School. He was a longtime employee at Bank of Boston before his retirement in 2004.
Mr. Keane enjoyed spending time with his family and coaching his son’s youth sports teams. He was a 37-year resident of Milton.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (O’Brien) Keane; his son, James F. Keane Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of North Easton; his grandchildren, Jimmy Keane, Jenna Keane and Jessica Keane; his siblings, John Keane, Kevin Keane and his wife, Mary, and Maureen Crowe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Thomas Keane.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on June 2. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Dolan Funeral Home.
