James Francis Livesey

James Francis Livesey of Milton, MA died peacefully on March 30 at age 61 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Barbara and the proud father of James and Katherine.

Born on Father's Day Jim was the eldest son of Jim and Helen Murphy Livesey. Growing up in Westfield, NJ Jim's dedication to basketball led him to become Co-Captain of the varsity team at Holy Trinity High School and earned him a partial scholarship to Stonehill College.

After graduating from Stonehill, Jim worked in retail while he obtained his MBA from Boston College. In 2007 Jim was one of the principal founders of Beacon Exchange Company where he worked until his retirement.

An avid runner, Jim completed the Boston Marathon and was often seen running on the streets of Milton before dawn. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife and children, Jim was the son of Helen (Murphy) Livesey. Brother of Jane Livesey O'Hara of NJ, Rose Livesey Colford of CT, Patricia Proudfoot of NJ, John Livesey of PA, Eileen Livesey Biskup of NJ, Jerry Livesey of NJ and Joan Livesey Penczak of NJ. Son in Law of Edna O'Keefe of NJ. Brother in law of Patricia O'Keefe of NJ.

Funeral Monday, April 4, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 5 Canton Ave., Milton at 9 am.

Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth's Church, Milton at 10 o'clock.

Visiting Hours Sunday 2 - 5 pm. In Lieu of flowers contributions in Jim's name may be sent to either Stonehill College, Advancement Division, 320 Washington Street, Easton, MA 02357, or to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
