James M. Walsh, 72, a retired stockbroker, died May 9 at Westerly Hospital in Westerly, R.I.
Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a resident of Narragansett, R.I., and also a longtime resident of Milton.
He was a graduate of Boston College High School, Dorchester, and College of the Holy Cross, Worcester.
He was a member of Weekapaug Golf Club, Westerly, R.I., and an active participant in the Rhode Island Senior Games.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen F. (Madden) Walsh; his children, Deborah Lutz and her husband, Daniel Lutz, of Medfield, James S. Walsh and his wife, Donna Walsh, of Weymouth, Michael J. Walsh, of San Francisco, Mary Ellen Walsh, of Watertown, and Stephen Walsh and his fiancé, Jennifer Guarino, of Malden; his grandchildren, Madeline Lutz, Henry Lutz, James Walsh and Joseph Walsh; and his brothers, John J. Walsh, of Dover, Robert F. Walsh, of Boston, and Donald A. Walsh, of Dorchester.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on May 14. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
