James W. Reardon, 92, of Milton, died at Milton Healthcare Facility on Sept. 27.
Born and raised in Milton, Mr. Reardon graduated from Boston College High School in 1935 and Boston College in 1940. He then entered the Army and served during World War II.
He worked as a claims adjuster for Hardware Mutual Insurance Co. and was later promoted to technical claims manager when his company merged with Sentry Insurance.
Mr. Reardon was very active in the town as a parishioner at St. Agatha Parish and as a youth baseball coach. He was an avid boater and fisherman and served on the alumni board at BC High.
Husband of the late Mary J. (Barrett) Reardon, he is survived by his children, James W. Reardon Jr., of Florida, Francis P. Reardon, of Jamaica, Maryanne Kirpalani, of Chelsea, Richard E. Reardon, of Pembroke, and Thomas M. Reardon, of Milton; and his grandchildren, Meghan Reardon, James Reardon, Kelli Reardon, Robert Reardon and Erin Reardon.
He was the brother of the late Richard Reardon.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in
St. Agatha Church on Oct. 3. Burial was in
Milton Cemetery.
