John F. Haddigan, 67, of Quincy, formerly of Milton, died at home July 27 following a brief illness.
Born and Boston and raised in Milton, he attended St. Agatha Grammar School, Archbishop Williams High School, Cardinal O’Connell St. John’s Seminary and Suffolk Law School.
Mr. Haddigan spent four years at Quincy District Court as the assistant clerk of court. Along with the clerk’s job, he was the bail commissioner at the Quincy Police Department and taught night classes at Massasoit Community College.
He later served as the assistant attorney general for 12 years and was a practicing attorney for 35 years in Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut.
He enjoyed vacationing with his family and friends on Nantucket, Cape Cod, New Hampshire’s Loon Mountain and Maine’s Sebago Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Reister; his children, Kevin M. Haddigan and his wife, Britt, of Charleston, S.C., Patrick J. Haddigan and his wife, Kristin, of Marshfield, Kerry L. Young and her husband, Shane, of Weymouth, Kristen A. Nichol and her husband, Christopher, of Quincy, and Shawn M. Haddigan, of Marshfield; his grandchildren, Brendan, Devin, Colin, Tucker, Delia, Colby, Siena, Thomas and Brett; his brother, Martin Haddigan, and his girlfriend, Jane Gallahue, of Milton; his sister, Nancy Murray and her husband, Gerard, of Milton; his nephew, Michael Murray; and his godson, Daniel Murray.
A funeral Mass celebrated in St. Agatha Church on July 31. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
