John H. Callahan, 85, of Quincy, died at Boston Medical Center on Aug. 2.
Born in Boston, he worked as a machine operator at the Gillette Co. for over 41 years.
Mr. Callahan served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. Prior to the war, he worked at Keystone Manufacturing Co. in Dorchester.
Husband of the late Mary E. (Sanderson) Callahan, he is survived by his children, Patricia Goroshko and her husband, Michael, of Dracut, Thomas Callahan, of California, Kenneth Callahan, of Quincy, and Elaine Sanderson, of Dorchester; three grandchildren, Sherrin, Kevin Sanderson and Justin Early; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late James Callahan, Daniel Callahan and Robert Callahan.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Aug 14. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
