John J. Costello died at Southwood at Norwell on
Feb. 28.
Born and raised in South Boston, he had resided in Squantum for the past 45 years. He was a graduate of Gate of Heaven High School, South Boston.
Mr. Costello was a test man for Nynex Corp. before his retirement in 1995. He was a member of IBEW, Local 2222; a life member of South Boston Yacht Club; and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Husband of the late Marjorie A. (McLeod) Costello, he is survived by his sons, John W. Costello and his wife, Paula, of Quincy, David M. Costello and his wife, Karen, of Norwell, Robert D. Costello and his wife, Amy, of Concord, and Stephen Costello, of Quincy; his grandchildren, Emily Costello, Murphy Costello, Kelly Costello, Brigid Costello and Jake Costello; and his sister, Margaret Lee, of Waltham.
He was the brother of the late Mary Terrenzi and James Costello.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy, on March 4. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
