John J. Donovan, of Quincy and Harwichport, died at his home on March 23.
Born in Boston, he grew up in West Roxbury. He was a graduate of Boston College, class of 1955 and worked as deputy superintendent at the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department.
He was a World War II Marine veteran, and member of the Neighborhood Club, Quincy.
He was the husband of the late Ann S. (Courtney) “Nancy” Donovan. He is survived by his daughters, Ann S. Spragg and her husband, Dennis Spragg, of Milton, and Linda Donovan, of Quincy; his granddaughter, Jacqueline Zamzow; and his sister, Margaret Carr, of Needham.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Agatha Church on March 26.
