John R. “Rob” Howley, 76, of Quincy, a former longtime resident of Milton, died Dec. 12.
Born in Dorchester, he was a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Howley was the founder of J.R. Howley Seafoods.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann (Shea) Howley; his children, Maureen Howley, of Quincy, Julie Westwater and her husband, Robert, of Milton, Carole Simmons and her husband, William, of Milton, Robert Howley and his wife, Holly, of Glastonbury, Conn., and Paul Howley and his wife, Christine, of Milton; his sisters, Patricia Kerwin, of Quincy, and Johanna Murphy, of West Bridgewater; and 12 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Thomas Howley, Mary Timmins, Margie Walsh, Patrick Howley and James Howley.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Agatha Church on Dec. 16. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
