John R. Mitiguy died at his home Oct. 7.
A lifelong Milton resident, he was a 1953 graduate of Milton High School and a 1957 graduate of Tufts University.
Mr. Mitiguy retired after a 40-year career as a registered engineer at Boston Edison. He was a life member of the IEEE engineering society.
He was a longtime parishioner and Eucharistic minister of St. Elizabeth Parish. A square dancer, he was a member of the Lofty Squares and Buckaroos groups.
He was an Army National Guard veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Leah T. (Celi) Mitiguy; his children, Edmund R. Mitiguy, of Sudbury, Janine M. Gould, of Westborough, Paul C. Mitiguy, of California, Renee M. Ho, of Arizona, and Michele M. Robbins, of North Reading; 11 grandchildren; and his sister and brothers, Joan C. MacEwen, of Medfield, James W. Mitiguy, of Marblehead, and Robert C. Mitiguy, of Hawaii.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on Oct. 12. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
