John Ramer, 73, of Milton, formerly of Foxboro, died April 24.
A 28-year employee of Morse Shoe Co. and a former employee of Mercury International, he later started his own shoe company called Pillow Tech International, located in Stoughton. He traveled all over the world because of his business of developing shoes and selling them in America.
Mr. Ramer liked helping people and was on the board of directors of the 2/10 International Footwear Foundation, a philanthropic organization for shoe workers. He was also proud of his time served aboard the USS Severn during the Korean War.
Outside of work, he loved spending time with family and being on the golf course.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine M. (DeKeersmaeker) Ramer; his children, Nancy A. Ramer and her fiancé, Scott Westcott, of Queensbury, N.Y., and Mark A. Ramer and his partner, Lisa A. Catarius, of North Attleboro; two grandchildren, Alyse and Logan; his brother, Richard Ramer and his wife, Patricia Ramalheira, of New York; his in-laws, Tony L. DeKeersmaeker and Meredith DeKeersmaeker, of Danvers; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late John Ramer Jr. and brother of the late Alexander Ramer.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at April 29 at St. Agatha’s Church. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
