John “Sean” Stenson, 89, died May 15.

Originally from Bellaghy, Charlestown, County Sligo, Ireland, he came to the United States as a young man. He was a resident of Milton for the past 40 years.

Mr. Stenson was the former owner of the Dublin House in Dorchester.

He is survived by his sisters, Bridie Duffy and Peggy Stenson, both of County Sligo, Ireland; his nieces and nephews, John Stenson, Thomas Stenson, Michael Stenson, Robert Stenson, Michael Harrison, Peter Harrison, John Harrison, Mary Beth Driscoll and John Duffy; and his close friends, Barbara Sullivan and Angela Coffey.

He was the brother of the late Mary Harrison, Thomas Stenson, Michael Stenson, Martin Stenson and Edward Stenson, and uncle of the late Stephen Stenson.

A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church on May 19. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
