John W. Tieso

John W. Tieso died at Carney Hospital in Dorchester on March 30.
Born in Boston, he lived in Hyde Park and Mattapan for many years before moving to Milton eight years ago.
Mr. Tieso was employed for 29 years by the MBTA as a bus driver/collector. He retired in 1991.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a past president and longtime member of St. Kevin’s Holy Name Society, and a former member of American Legion Post 128 in Mattapan.
Husband of the late Dolores E. (Beard) Tieso, he is survived by his children, Charles V. Tieso, of Texas, John J. Tieso, of Vermont, Linda D. Hughes and Mary C. Dillon, both of Braintree, Dianne M. Chace, of Vermont, and Barbara E. Perry, of Milton; his siblings, Benjamin Tieso, of Hyde Park, Mary Tieso, of Milton, and Geraldine Morello, of Saugus; 14 grandchildren; and his grand dogs.
He was the brother of the late Carmela Hepke, Margaret Jones, Frances Tieso, Vincent Tieso, Lucy Tieso and Frank Tieso.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Church on April 5. Burial was in Bourne National Cemetery.
