Joseph A. Arno, 59, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on March 23.
Born in Boston, Mr. Arno grew up in Hyde Park, graduated from Hyde Park High School and lived there until his move to Mansfield 25 years ago. He resided in Stuart, Fla., for the past 10 years.
A mechanic for the town of Brookline, he retired in 2005 after a 30-year employment.
Mr. Arno was a past commodore and late member of Port Norfolk Yacht Club in Dorchester.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Priscilla A. (O’Connell) Arno; his sons, David J. Arno, of Mansfield, and Joseph “Scotty” Arno, of South Attleboro; his brothers, Thomas Arno, of Ohio, and Anthony Arno, of Plainville; his sister, Catherine Devine, of Mansfield; and his dog, Heidi.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Mary Church, Mansfield, on March 29. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Mansfield.
